National VCT Day: 2011 marked the two year anniversary for the annual celebration of National Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) in Zambia. June 30th saw a team from Tiny Tim and Friends marching in the streets of Matero Compound in Lusaka with many other health organizations from Lusaka all joined in broadcasting the message "Get Tested Together, Get Tested Today". The goal of the event each year is to publicize and normalize HIV testing and to diffuse how important it is for people to know their own HIV status. We were joined by the Center for Infectious Disease Research Zambia (CIDRZ) at the Matero Community Center where TT&F tested just over 60 individuals from the Matero community as well as supporters of the event from fellow organizations.   Providing educational, vocational and nutritional support for HIV+ orphans, vulnerable children and pregnant women in Zambia.
