Katja started volunteering at TT&F after completing her PhD in Marketing Psychology at Manchester University in the UK. She helped immensely by working with all the departments in creating reporting templates, protocols and flowcharts for specific TT&F activities and assisting in implementing our Plumpy Nut Program. To contact Katja email her at katjaisaksen@gmail.com. I joined the TT&F team after I was given a strong recommendation from a staff member. So far I already can tell that I will gain much experience caring for HIV+ children and their caregivers in the counseling sessions that I help with. I hold a diploma in social work from Evelyn Hone college and it has been useful in the work I’ve done at TT&F. On my days off I love to watch cartoons! Email: kadish.1@gmail.com I completed both my bachelor’s degree and my master’s degree in Accounting at Ohio State University in the United States of America. I’m most excited about working with the children at TT&F in the coming months while I settle into life in Lusaka. One amazing adventure I’ve found myself on is skydiving over the fields of Indiana! Lebohang came to Zambia in November 2010 fully expecting to fail in extending her tourist visa. Luckily, she stumbled upon TT&F and the opportunity to work on the farm. Since doing community gardening in Bolivia with the Peace Corps, her thumbs had been itching to get back in dirt. Through her work at the farm TT&F now sells its vegetables at several markets around Lusaka (to some supermarkets as well!) and even has some private home deliveries. In addition to the crops Lebo also was integral in the start up of the Animal Husbandry Training program and building of our animal shelters at the farm. If you are interested in farming and would like to volunteer at the farm please contact her to find out more! Her email is lebohang.moore@gmail.com. I’m from Livingstone and completed my tertiary education at Choma Trades Training Institute where I pursued a diploma in social work.  The people at TT&F are very welcoming and easy to get along with. I like their approach towards work and I’ excited to be working here as well. I am a cheerful person who is easy to get a long with. I like to see people’s lives change for the better and when I achieve that I know that I have fulfilled my hearts desire. I enjoy making friends, singing, learning how to play the guitar and reading inspirational books. I began volunteering at TT&F when I arrived in Zambia in November 2010. Helping in all areas I eventually settled down into a few different projects including the development, monitoring and evaluation of the Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT) program, the creation and implementation of the Plumpy Nut nutrition program and also the design and layout of the new TT&F Zambia website. Shoot any questions to me at noramarymoore@gmail.com. Email: aepaxie@yahoo.co.uk I have been working alongside the clinical officer in the clinical department of Tiny Tim & Friends (TT&F) since June, 2010. I’m currently in my second to last year of medical school at the University of Zambia (UNZA). The work at TT&F involves taking patient history, performing physical examination on patients, ordering laboratory investigations, helping with prescribing medications to patients and occasionally dispensing the medications to patients during the Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) clinics held by TT&F on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I am a motivated, passionate, hard-working, proactive and outgoing person, with a profound interest in the Medical field, who seeks to consistently challenge and improve myself, and to master and demonstrate a high degree of Medical expertise. By helping with performing clinical work during the ART clinics at TT&F, I hope to contribute positively towards the fight against HIV/AIDS in Zambia. I aim to use the expertise gained at TT&F to further my training, improve my skills and become a better doctor. Email: sedgw011@umn.edu I attended Monhiama College in Psychosocial Counseling and I’m excited to be volunteering at TT&F because it is a supportive and positive community. I love to read a good book, to watch football and to visit new places. Email: nasiuluta@gmail.com Email: emmah3t6@yahoo.com I first trained as an Aeronautical Information Services Operator with the Zambia Civil Aviation at the Zambia Air Services Training Institute. After I graduated I did an internship with the National Airport Co-operation at the Lusaka International Airport. Later in 2010 I realized how helpful and valuable it would be for me to train as a counselor. In 2010 January I started my studies in guidance counseling, which I felt would be a great benefit to children who are psychologically, emotionally and socially troubled. I feel like I need to help the physically challenged people such as the deaf, the blind and the handicapped to be placed in their rightful positions at their work places and to make sure that they have equal rights. TT&F inspires me because it is a unique organization due to the unique services it provides such as educational and nutritional support. If a child receives educational support this helps them become more independent and offers them something to draw on in the future. I am addicted to using gestures even when I am on the phone and I love smiling because I believe it is only when you smile that you make your life and others bearable. So I believe! I hold a certificate in counseling from University Teaching Hospital (UTH) and I began volunteering at TT&F in May 2011. I love working with the children at TT&F and getting to know the different programs. Apart from TT&F I love clubbing, golfing, throwing darts and playing pool!
